Library Research Award for Undergraduates

Is your research paper worth money? The Library is again awarding prizes for outstanding examples of undergraduate research. This year there are 2 levels: $750 for freshman, sophomore and junior papers and $1000 for seniors plus $100 honorable mentions.

In 2008 history students won four awards:

• Gwendolyn Slote - for a series of papers on utopias
  
• Gabriel Chrisman - (2 prizes) Uncompromising Activism: The Fish-In Protests at Frank's Landing and The Port Madison Area in the 1870s and the 1880s: An Integrated Community
  
• Sharae Marie Wheeler - "A Sort of Normal Life:" Japanese American Marriage Practices within the Context of the World War II Incarceration Period
