New Database: Economist Historical Archive

The Economist has long been, as one historian put it, "an unrivalled primary source for political, economic, and social historians." Now this unrivalled primary source is available online via the Economist Historical Archive 1843-2006. Explore more than 165 years of one of the world's leading news, business and political opinion magazines. Every page of the magazine from news coverage to opinion pieces, statistical tables to advertising, can be searched as well as browsed by date.

Major funding for this digital archive was provided through the generosity of the Center for West European Studies.

Off-campus access: Economist Historical Archive
