New History-Related Databases

The Undergraduate Library has subscribed to four new databases that provide encyclopedia-type information combined with introductory essays and sample primary documents (texts and images) that will be particularly useful to introductory classes:

• The American Indian Experience
  The American Indian Experience (AIE) is a full-text digital resource exploring the histories and contemporary cultures of the indigenous peoples of the United States. From Pre-contact to the present day, from the Inuit of the north to the Seminoles of Florida, AIE is meant for anyone wishing to learn more about America's Native Peoples.
  
  
• Daily Life Online
  Daily life online is a collection of primary documents, reference works, monographs, images, maps, illustrations, and time lines depicting essential activities of daily life across the globe and throughout history.
  
  
• The Latino American Experience
  A full-text database focusing on the history and culture of Latinos living in the United States including images, hundreds of primary documents, Spanish-language content, a timeline, and vetted Web sites.
  
  
• Pop Culture Universe
  A fulltext database based on the content of more than 300 published books including encyclopedias that explores American popular culture from the 1920s to the present.
