Database Trial: Proquest Dissertations Full-Text

Looking for a dissertation? Then try Proquest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) full-text. Unlike our current version which only includes abstracts, PQDT includes more than 1 million full-text theses in pdf format. The UW Libraries currently has PQDT on a month-long trial.

If you think the database might be useful for your research, please take a bit of time to try it out and let me know what you think. Some possible questions to consider:

• How useful would PQDT be for your research?
• Would the database be useful for student research?
• How important is PQDT compared to other databases you might use?
• How well did the searching function? Were you able to find what you wanted?
  
• In your estimation, does the database warrant purchasing given the limitations of the library budget? This version of the database costs 3-4 times as much as we currently pay.
