EBSCO Databases Replacing Proquest on July 1

For the last few years, many of us have depended on Proquest databases to quickly find newspaper, magazine and journal articles. The Proquest databases were funded by a state-wide initiative, the Washington Cooperative Library Project (CLP). Every year CLP decides on a suite of databases for it's member libraries.

This year CLP has decided to switch from Proquest to EBSCO and NewsBank. Beginning July 1, 2008 Proquest Research Library, Proquest Business (ABI/Inform) and Proquest NewsStand will be replaced with Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete and NewsBank Access World News. Coverage between these databases and the Proquest versions will be similar.

Other databases that we subscribe to via Proquest such as the Historic New York Times and Dissertation Abstracts will remain unchanged.
