New Digitized Collections of Primary Sources

Searching for primary sources for American history is now a bit more easier with the acquistion of three new databases.

• Digital National Security Archive
  DNSA contains more than 60,000 important declassified documents dealing with critical post-war US policy decisions in the Middle East, Latin America and Asia.
  
• Historic Los Angeles Times
  Digitized version of the newspaper from 1881 to 1985 provides coverage of California and US West events and history.
  
• Women and Social Movements in the United States 1600-2000
  More than 70 topical document collections covering everything from women's activism during the American Revolution to the 1994 Violence Against Women Act.

The Libraries also purchased African Writer's Series, a digitized version of Heinemann's 181 volume printed collection of fiction, poetry, drama and non-fictional prose from African writers.
